Session 6.5 (Jasmine Solo)

Deals with the moment that the blood enters her eyes and she becomes petrified
The Corpse and its whole deal should probably be inspired with the City of Omelas and the Palaxcia (corpse's name was Omelas??)
Perhaps a knight of the Valitas who was sacrificed to the people of Eldath's country for lasting peace.
Try to show Omelas' tragedy without direct words. Perhaps snapshots of his life where Jazmine has opportunities to interact with him. (Think like those haunted paintings from Dungeon Meshi)
Split it up into multiple parts. Start with the moment she was possessed by its blood, and have her interact with it more throughout dreams or whatnot.
Give her opportunities to quell its malice through kindness.
Jazmine hints in her backstory at her goal being to discover who and what she is, so I want to incorporate hints to that in some way.

Snapshots:

At his birth
- A newborn Omelas lies swaddled in his mother's arms. The cozy cabin room is illuminated a warm yellow from the fireplace on the other wall. Outside the window you can see snow coming down, but inside there is nothing but warmth and happiness.
- The baby is whining and reaching its hands outwards, trying to grasp for Jazmine's finger which will inevitably quell its whining.
As a young child
- A young Omelas holds onto a rickety ladder, gazing at the roof of his house where a wooden sword lies stuck on the shingles. His legs are shaky, and he keeps rubbing his hands against his shorts.
- Jazmine can either get it for him or hold the ladder at the bottom to make sure he's safe. However she decides to help Omelas, he will tell her to wait and run around the side of the house to pluck a tulip for her.
As a teenager
- His father (an original Knight of Torm) was killed in the line of duty. Now Omelas is approaching the age of joining and he's scared that he'll meet the same fate.
- He confides in Jazmine about his fears and seeks advice
Some moment of him as a Knight of Torm
- Jazmine finds herself in harm's way (maybe a fiend?) but Omelas suddenly appears to defend her. He'll just do a little thing of heroism to show how far he's come, and show some thanks for all that she's done to help.
- I need him to join the order, but if Jazmine convinces him out of it as a teenager, then I need a way to show that despite him joining, her words made a real impact.
His death
- I need him going into some noble task and being brutally betrayed. I need Eldath's elites to have some reason for brutalizing Omelas
His silent rotting afterwards
- Near complete silence; just the occasional sound of wind blowing or a crow's caw. Omelas' rotting body sits in the same position that they first found him. There's still scraps of his eyes being feasted on by ants; maggots infest the open wounds of his stumps. Jazmine can call out to him, but there will only be silence in return.

Timing

Initial petrification
- I imagine that Omelas is instinctively hostile and doesn't start "trauma dumping" until the night after. This one will need a truly unsettling opening to get the feeling across properly.
Interlude between capture and awakening at The Cavern
- N/A
Going unconscious back at the ruins
- More visions of horror but this time with subtle clues relating to his life/fate
Night afterwards
- Main portion of the flashbacks

Rough Outline

Starts during Session 4 when Jazmine is about to touch the blood spring
Do best you can to present an immersive and unsettling scene of what takes place in her mind
Do a VERY quick recap of what they do in-between this moment and the next time they're at the ruins
Describe the next vision that takes place while she's unconscious
Keep an atmosphere of horror, but focus more on the symbolism of whatever she endures in her mind.
Another VERY quick recap of what they do over the next two sessions, culminating with her going to bed for the night at The Rat's Nest.
Suddenly she jolts awake inside of a log cabin, lying in an unfamiliar bed. Beyond her bedroom she can hear the whining of a baby and see flashes of yellow light dancing across the walls through the door's crack.
As she leaves the bedroom and enters the living area of the house, she can see a woman sat on a large cot, babe in arms. At her feet kneels a man, looking up at her with a smile while he gently strokes her arm. Neither of them seem to acknowledge her presence.
The baby will continue whining until Jazmine does something to calm it. Once she does, her vision will fade into a cloudy white before moving onto the next flashback
Next, Jazmine will awaken standing on a stone road in front of a townhouse. Here she'll see a young boy with platinum blonde hair—no older than 8—standing in front of a rickety ladder and looking up at the roof in front of him where a wooden sword is stuck on the shingles. He can be seen trembling slightly, and he's continually wiping his palms against his shorts.
Someway somehow, the young boy will notice Jazmine and say something along the lines of:
"O-oh...hello ma'am! Uh- y-you wouldn't happen to—um I mean, c-c-could you—I-I'm sorry—c-could you please please help me get my sword back! I was swinging it around like daddy so I c-can be a really cool knight like him, but I was TOO STRONG and it FLEW out of my hands like l-like a spear—but it was spinning, which isn't very good for spears—but knights use swords so I don't really need to worry about that...BUT BUT BUT—when uh- w-when I told daddy that I got my sword stuck, he got mad and gave me this ladder, and he- um- he said I had to get it back myself—but...uh..."
His eyes turn towards the ground and he starts to blush, not wanting to admit to being scared.
"I can't get it down for VERY special and VERY secret reasons, so um c-could you get it for me...?"
Depending on how Jazmine interacts with this, he may ask for her to just hold the ladder for him.
After the sword is returned to him, Omelas will be overjoyed. As a token of his thanks, he'll run around the side of the house, pick a red tulip for Jazmine, and then put it in her hair.
At some point in here I'll need to insert that his name is Omelas and have him find out that her name is Jazmine
She next awakens standing in a windy clearing next to a cliff. Sitting at the edge is a teenage Omelas. When she interacts with him, he'll tell about his father dying in action and how he fears he'll suffer the same fate.
She then awakens on a dirt path in the forest, with a hostile adolescent owlbear approaching from the forest. As it charges Jazmine, Omelas appears behind her and fights it, eventually pressuring it into fleeing.
As the owlbear flees, Omelas sheathes his sword and turns back towards Jazmine, greeting her with a warm smile. He tells about all that he's done since he became a knight and all that Jazmine's help has done to bring him where he is today.
Jazmine awakens in the clearing where they first encountered the corpse. It's near completely silent, except the occasional rustle of the wind blowing or a crow's caw. Omelas' rotting body sits in the same position that they first found him. There's still scraps of his eyes being feasted on by ants; maggots infest the open wounds of his stumps. Jazmine can call out to him, but there will only be silence in return.

And perhaps just as suddenly—you're back. Your vision is blurry, your ears are ringing, your limbs burn, and your body is drenched in blood. Though you're physically unharmed—the image of the corpse's anguished face, empty eye sockets, and rotted flesh has left a deep, deep scar in your mind.

- He stands in front of a rickety old ladder
- There's a wooden sword stuck on top of the roof
- His legs are trembling and he's constantly wiping his palms against his shorts
When the boy notices Jazmine:
- "O-oh...hello ma'am! Uh- y-you wouldn't happen to—um I mean, c-c-could you—I-I'm sorry—c-could you please please help me get my sword back! I was swinging it around like daddy so I c-can be a really cool knight like him, but I was too strong and it FLEW out of my hands like l-like a spear—but it was spinning, which isn't very good for spears—but knights use swords so I don't really need to worry about that...BUT BUT BUT—when uh- w-when I told daddy that I got my sword stuck, he got mad and gave me this ladder, and he- um- he said I had to get it back myself—but...uh..."
  *His eyes turn towards the ground and he starts to blush
  "I can't get it down for VERY special and VERY secret reasons, so um c-could you get it for me...?"
