Backstory:

About 300 years before the era of divination, Alton, son of his father Sigmard, and of his mother Skibetta, grew up in royalty. Alton's much older brother, Kaelen, was killed in an accident pursuing his passion in science. Alton developed an intense passion for alchemy and science to honor Kaelen's death.
When Alton turned 11, his mother gifted him Kalen's old lab book. Using the sigils found in the book, Alton unknowingly relinquished his body to an evil deity, serving as its vessel, and destroyed his own nation in the following 2 years. Once the deed was finished, the evil deity exited his body, leaving the boy broken in a forest physically and mentally.

Auril happened across the child, freezing him in ice; Alton never learned why. What he did discover however, is that the ice had forcefully and painfully mended the physical destruction throughout his body—the pain keeping him awake in the ice and forever changing him. His skin was discolored, the metals in the ice somehow mended to become a part of him, and though his eyes became unseeing, centuries trapped awake in ice led him to develop a certain "spatial sense".

Eventually it began to melt. Alton was left wandering, mentally intertwined with Auril in manners inexplicable, and a new innate understanding in the art of wielding a sword. He found himself drawn to anything that could resemble artwork, and he didn't seem to have boundaries on cruelty, or any empathy to speak of. The world was different now—so was Alton.
He now spends his time combatting Auril's harsh voice. He has heard about miracles of renewal endowed upon the worshipers of Lathander; maybe he can rid of the voice there...However, Auril is his deity in spite of his own desires. He obviously disobeys her, yet he continues to live.

With many conflictions in his heart, the only sure fire desire he has is to repair the damages that he had caused by instead bringing good to the world. He hasn't a clue on how to do that, but there has been talk of some sort of festival lately. The past 17 years after defrosting haven't proven fruitful, so he might as well see if there's anything interesting going on there...
